The back of the CD has a disclaimer that the band had nothing to do with the release of this show. If it is a bootleg, the sound quality is top notch (maybe a soundboard patch for a radio broadcast??) I'm sure somebody will review this album who has info. on the recording. On to the review ..... The selections on Live On Air include three from "Raging Silence", two from "Different World" and one from "Sonic Origami." The songs represent the less-than-stellar early albums with Lanzon, Shaw, and Bolder (this is just my opinion: This lineup really came into their own with "Sea of Light", "Sonic Origami", and the three newer releases) -- There's even a Pete Golby song from Abominog. The show starts off with a blast, highlighted by great versions of "Shadows of Grief" and "Pilgrim" -- a great selection of fairly obscure tunes from the early days. The strongest part of this show though is the quiet acoustic middle of the show with four consecutive mellow and emotional pieces , before the show ends with John Lawton joining the band for "Been Away Too Long", from the Firelfy album. Shaw and Lawton share stanzas on this one. Lawton stays on stage for the next two songs to add a line here or there and sings backup. If you like some of the Heep's output from 1989 - 1994, but not enough to buy a whole disc, this live show puts that period in a great light and is a tremendous chronicle of a band being reborn after 25 years.
