Music in the Air is a celebration of 70 years of existence from the legendary gospel vocal group the Dixie Hummingbirds. On hand is a star-studded array of guests, including Paul Simon, Bobby Womack, Stevie Wonder, Wynonna Judd, and Isaac Hayes. Virtuoso of close harmonies, it cannot be overestimated their importance in the basis of 50s doo wop. Artists from the Temptations to Jackie Wilson with Womack and Wonder owe a huge debt to the group. Paul Simon featured them on his 1973 hit Love Me Like a Rock and here they revisit that song with him. The group formed in 1928 in South Carolina. Nearly two-dozen members passed through the group since that time.
