This is a unique album. It was the last live performance by Clara Rockmore, who was getting on in years, and she passed away at the age of 85 (if I remember the age correctly). She was a virtuoso musician on the Theramon, which was an early electronic instrument - a precursor to the Moog synthesizer and other electronic musical equipment which followed it much later. Her performance on the Theramon was excellent, even at her advanced age on this album. Only 3 albums were produced over her career, so they are all rare and hard to find. The theramin sounds either like a violin or like a cello, depending on how it's played. The music on this album is quite melodic, soothing... beautiful, and it is unique. For those who are looking for a unique listening experience, this is a good album to listen to. I have not heard any kind of instrument that has sounded like the Theramin. So I bought 2 of Clara Rockmore's albums, and I think they are a very worthwhile investment.
